Regionals will be all virtual for 2021. As much as we would like to be in person, for a lot of folks it’s just too much to ask (between no field trip policies, bus driver shortages, or trying to teach quarantined students and in-person, etc.). So, this switch will keep your groups in school and not add the stress of getting subs, buses, etc.
The 2021-22 Project Toolkit is updated with the latest rubrics and resources. Jump to the STLP Supersheet to grab the link. Here’s the skinny:
- Level i should be happening now as teams are investigating, getting inspired and iterating project idea.
- Level 1 – short elevator pitch, live online via teleconference with live judges, tell judges about project idea by answering the 7 questions in rubric, use any type of presentation the team wants (slide deck, video, interpretive dance, etc.), answer questions from judges.
- Level 2 & 3 – Live presentations at Rupp Arena in Lexington on April 20, 2022
Remember, Level 1 Projects (Regionals) are not completed projects. Just prepare a short elevator pitch and jump in. Feedback from judges will help the team focus as they work to “complete” their project ahead of State.
Registration for Regionals will open mid-October and close November 15.
