Collect Evidence Now for 2025 Gold Status
Achieving STLP Gold Status is a challenging, but rewarding, optional activity that should involve your whole STLP.
Schools that embrace STLP throughout the year, and are prepared to detail the value of their STLP, should consider applying to ACHIEVE Gold Status. STLP schools that currently have active Gold Status (see 2024 list below) should apply to RETAIN their Gold Status for the upcoming year.
Gold Status applications can be built throughout the STLP year, but the application window will not open until the end of the school year to allow your STLP to participate and collect evidence to support your application. Build your application all year to highlight your STLP accomplishments.
All Gold Status applications should be student developed.
Process to Retain Gold Status
Schools that are listed on the Gold Status list for this school year should select “Retain Gold Status” on the Gold Status form and check off requirements to confirm that all information is complete. Although the Retain Gold application is much simpler, schools should still check out the rubric via the Super Sheet.
- Complete the “Get Recognized” form to become a State Recognized STLP
- Explain how your STLP earned at least 7 different Level Up badges
- List how your STLP participated throughout this school year
IMPORTANT: All Gold Status (Achieve and Retain) submissions must be student developed. While the STLP Coach can assist in the creation of any submission (and help with the online application) any presentations, descriptions, or narratives should be guided by student feedback. Applications should be developed throughout the STLP year, culminating in submission after STLP State Championship concludes. Gold Status applications can be part of the post STLP State activities for your STLP.
Evidence of STLP Involvement for Achieving Gold Status
Thanks for your interest in achieving Gold Status for your STLP. Below you will find the process for requesting Gold Status for the 2023-24 STLP season.
Who should request Gold Status? STLP groups should apply for Gold Status if it is their first time requesting Gold Status, if they achieved Silver Status last year, or if the STLP missed a year of Gold Status by failing to submit to retain Gold Status from the previous year.
- Complete the “Get Recognized” form to become a State Recognized STLP
- Submit a presentation about your STLP year (see details below)
- Explain how your STLP earned at least 7 different Level Up badges
- List how your STLP participated throughout this school year
Using the criteria below (and found in the rubric via the Super Sheet), create an electronic presentation documenting what the STLP is doing. Schools may use any method they choose to create the presentation – get creative or keep it simple. The only technical requirement is that the presentation must be viewable online and can be reviewed by judging committee using readily available devices (i.e. no special software is required).
The major components of evidence to be documented include (in text and/or picture/graphics/video):
-
How STLP is your whole school
-
How KY Academic Standards for Technology were engaged
-
How STLP contributed to your school and/or community
-
List STLP Activities/Projects
-
Describe the vision for your STLP next year
