11:00 AM 2:00 PM Cinemania Thoroughbred Room 2 Using a given prompt, one team creates and posts a video within 48 hours of the state event (Judges report only – no student responsibility for event)

10:00 AM 4:00 PM Dell & Microsoft Gaming Heritage Ballroom 3 Onsite one student competes for high score on a selected game
9:45 AM 3:00 PM Digital Art Product – Drop Off Rupp Floor One student creates original digital art (Student drop off matted piece — as described in rubric — between 9:45 and 10:45 am).   Return at 3:00 for Ribbon Presentation and to collect piece.

10:30 AM 11:00 AM ePublishing Product Bluegrass Prefunction Area One team creates a published product used by a class/school/community. (Student drops off product. Watch Wall of Winners for Finalist Announcement)
11:00 AM 4:00 PM Extreme Networking Rupp Floor One student takes a written test and best scorers troubleshoot network issues onsite (11:00 – 1:00 All Grades Take Test, 2:00 – 4:00 Final Round)

11:30 AM 3:00 PM Flight Sim Heritage Prefunction Area One student answers quiz, best scorers use Flight Sim software to fly (K-5 Grades Only. BYOD laptop, MS Flight Sim software and joystick.
11:00 AM 1:00 PM Geek Squad Ready Elkhorn Room C One student will generate a web page concerning a topic and interview at State (Report at 10:30 to sign up for Presentation Time)
12:00 PM 3:00 PM Georgetown College Robot Use Rupp Floor A robot performs a task and 1 to 2 students discuss the task of the robot (12:00 – 1:00, Check in w/ Robot. 1:00 – 3:00 judging)
11:30 AM 1:00 PM Geotechnologies/Geospatial Thoroughbred Room 7 One team uses GIS to find a solution to a problem
9:45 AM 3:00 PM Graphic Design Product Rupp Floor One student creates a graphic design (Student drop off matted piece — as described in rubric — between 9:45 and 10:45 am). Return at 3:00 for Ribbon Presentation and to collect piece.
12:30 PM 3:30 PM Help Desk Support Service Rupp Dressing Room 5 and 6 One team presents and markets the school/district help desk
11:00 AM 1:00 PM Heritage Council Rupp Dressing Room 3 One team creates a Main Street video
11:00 AM 3:00 PM KSU GIS/MAPS/Cartography Rupp Floor One team creates a digital map or model. 11am-12pm K-5 Div. set up. 12:30-2:30 6-8 & 9-12 Div. set up.
11:00 AM 3:00 PM KY Travel Rupp Dressing Room 4 One team creates a travel campaign that reflects “There’s only one Kentucky” Teams should report at 11 to sign up for presentation time.
10:00 AM 11:00 AM Level 2 Project Judge Training Bluegrass Ballroom Level 2 Project Judges will meet and receive training on Level 2 Judging, meet their judge team (check in starts at 9:15 am, trianing starts promptly at 10 am)
11:00 AM 1:00 PM Level 2 Project Judging Heritage Hall Projects that were invited from Regional Fall Showcase present to Judges in hopes of advancing to Level 3 Judging (set up no earlier than 9:30. Juding starts at 11 am)
1:30 PM 4:00 PM Level 3 Project Judges Elkhorn Room C Qualifying projects will be recognized: Best in Group, 7 Runners Up and the 4 Best in Kentucky (K-5 Division, 6-8 Division, 9-12 Division and Technical Division).
9:30 AM 3:30 PM Live Reporting Service Rupp Dressing Room A Student report live from the STLP Stage in Rupp Arena throughout the event keeping the crowd up-to-date on news and scores.
9:45 AM 3:00 PM Manipulated Image Product Rupp Floor One student takes an original photo, manipulates it into a totally new image (Student drop off matted piece between 9:45 and 10:45 am). Return at 3:00 for Ribbon Presentation
10:00 AM 5:00 PM Media Arts Service Heritage Ballroom 1 Students use various media formats to create a digital overview of the STLP State Championship events
10:00 AM 3:30 PM Multimedia Content Product Bluegrass Prefunction Area One student uses three types of digital media to teach a concept. (Student drops off product. Watch Wall of Winners for Finalist Announcement)
10:00 AM 3:30 PM Music Product Bluegrass Prefunction Area One student creates an original digital music piece (Student drops off CD with Music)
3:00 PM 4:45 PM NCWIT KY Winners Reception Thoroughbred Room 5 Local NCWIT winners and runner up invited to gather and connect with fellow winners
11:00 AM 4:00 PM Newscast Thoroughbred Room 6 One team documents and explains the school’s news program & includes a sample video
1:00 PM 3:00 PM NKU Mobile App Elkhorn Room A One team creates a mobile application for learning or entertainment
12:00 PM 3:00 PM Photo on Demand Heritage Prefunction Area One student captures a photo with a given theme in a given amount of time. K-5, 6-8 Only. 12:00 Sign in. 12:30-1:30 Challenge. 1:30 – 3:00 Judging

11:00 AM 2:00 PM Proven Learning Quick Recall Rupp Floor One student quickly replies to general technology questions. 11-12 K-5, 12-1 6-8, 1-2 9-12 Division
10:00 AM 11:00 AM PSA Product Rupp Floor (Table By Stage) One team creates a PSA video (15, 30 or 60 sec.)
10:00 AM 4:00 PM Racing to the Future Rupp Floor One student’s car will race on a slot car track for fastest speed, best design using STEM. 10-11 Sign In. 11-4 Bracket Racing
11:00 AM 1:00 PM RCX (Robo Challenge Xtreme) Rupp Floor The regional team winners are invited to compete for the RCX state title. 10 am Check In, 11 am Competition begins, 3 pm Competition wraps up
10:00 AM 5:00 PM Social Media Service Heritage Ballroom 1 Invited team members provide event updates and news via various social media.
11:00 AM 1:00 PM STLP Game Design Challenge Thoroughbred Room 8 One team plans, designs and presents an original video game
10:00 AM 5:00 PM STLP Reporters Heritage Ballroom 1 One student develop stories from STLP State events to be published online
1:00 PM 3:30 PM STLP Scavenger Hunt Rupp (Fun Exploring CCT booth) Scavenger hunt related to STLP Districts – open to all
9:45 AM 3:30 PM Storytelling Product Thoroughbred Open Area One student writes an original story. 9:45-10:45 Drop off printed piece. 12-3 Judging. 3-3:30 Ribbon Presentation and Pick Up Piece.
